About the Philosophical Society…

The Swindon Philosophical Society meets in term-time, on Fridays from 7.40 to 9.40 at the Friends’ Meeting House, Eastcott Hill, Swindon SN1 3JF.

A typical evening’s format is a one hour talk, followed by an hour’s discussion – which generally continues in a nearby pub. Everyone is welcome –  we’re a friendly bunch – just turn up on the night.

Got an idea or a subject you want to present – just let us know – take a look at the archives for previous titles, it’s a pretty wide range!

We first met in 1963 – over 50 years of great thinking!

We’re not affiliated to any view, religion, creed, belief, political party, ethos or organisation –  everyone is welcome!

There’s a charge of £2.00 (students free) to cover expenses.

  1. Hi. I was wondering if someone could publish the notes some of the people jot down during the sessions, maybe as responses to the individual blogs about the topics? Or perhaps even the papers that the speakers read from. They would be useful.

  2. Wasn’t able to make last weeks talk about our moral responsibility to refugees. Was there any literature on it?
Is it possible to post anything on the site after the events?
