About the Philosophical Society…

The Swindon Philosophical Society normally  meets in term-time, on Fridays from 7.30 to 9.00pm

A typical evening’s format is about 45 mins talk, followed by 45mins discussion – which generally continues in a nearby pub. Everyone is welcome –  we’re a friendly bunch – just turn up on the night.

Got an idea or a subject you want to present – just let us know – take a look at the archives for previous titles, it’s a pretty wide range!

We first met in 1963 – 60 years of great thinking!

We’re not affiliated to any view, religion, creed, belief, political party, ethos or organisation – just great ideas, discussion and argument! –  and everyone is welcome!

  1. Hi. I was wondering if someone could publish the notes some of the people jot down during the sessions, maybe as responses to the individual blogs about the topics? Or perhaps even the papers that the speakers read from. They would be useful.

  2. Wasn’t able to make last weeks talk about our moral responsibility to refugees. Was there any literature on it?
Is it possible to post anything on the site after the events?
